Charles Bradley Dies After Cancer Battle (1948-2017)

Charles Bradley

The soul singer Charles Bradley has died, aged 68. The singer's publicist announced the sad news on his official Facebook page today (Sept. 23).

Thank you for your prayers during this hard time.

"Charles was truly grateful for all the love he's received from his fans and we hope his message of love is remembered and carried on", a statement from Daptone read.

His career launched with his 2011 debut album No Time For Dreaming, before he went onto release two more albums Victim Of Love in 2013 and Changes in 2016.

Trump's first speech to the United Nations was a disastrous, nationalistic flop
The administration has shied away from talk of nation-building or creating democracies through the use of the US military. Trump also said the Iranian government is an "economically depleted rogue state" whose chief export is violence.

Bradley, known as the "Screaming Eagle of Soul" for his impassioned performances, famously found musical success late in life.

Like fellow Daptones singer Sharon Jones, who also succumbed to cancer, Bradley achieved stardom late in his life. Earlier this month, he was forced to cancel a string of live dates after the cancer returned and spread from his stomach to his liver. Born Nov. 5, 1948 in Gainesville, Fla., he moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., when he was eight. "With God's will, I'll be back soon". In the 1990s, after moving back to NY to reconnect with his mother, Bradley began working in earnest as a James Brown impersonator (Bradley saw Brown perform at the Apollo Theater when he was a child).

After performing as a James Brown impersonator under the name "Black Velvet", Bradley began his professional music career in 2002 with a series of singles through Daptone, beginning with "Take It As It Comes". "I am honoured and glad to be back and am going to give you all of my love".

In lieu of flowers, his representative is asking that donations may be made to the following organizations: All-Stars Project or Music Unites. "I open their hearts up and they feel the love of my heart and when I go out there and really respond to 'em and talk to 'em, they tell me some things".
