Trump's tweet will further ignite the controversy embroiling the network this week after SportsCenter host Jemele Hill called President Trump a white supremacist on Twitter.

"My comments on Twitter expressed my personal beliefs", Ms Hill tweeted on Wednesday.

Hill has not apologized for the content of her tweet, but did express regret for "paint [ing] ESPN in an unfair light". "My respect for the company and my colleagues remains unconditional", she said, as reported by CNN.

"Hill's apology made it clear that her comments, which included a tweet saying, "[Trump's] the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime.

During today's press briefing, Sanders was confronted by reporters for her comments and she continued the White House's war with the Worldwide Leader as she hammered away at the network, claiming they were being hypocritical for not at least suspending Hill.

In Hill's series of tweets Monday evening, the sportscaster also said Trump's rise was "the direct result of white supremacy", which Sanders called "one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make". Now I don't personally believe that Trump is a white supremacist.

UM leads MI universities in college rankings
The rankings focus on student outcomes - including graduation and retention rates - which carry the most weight at 30 percent. TCNJ also ranked as the top university for veterans in the region and second in the region for Best Undergraduate Teaching.

President Trump has a new target in the media - ESPN. "We accept her apology". Producers asked two other black anchors, Michael Eaves and Elle Duncan, to fill in for Hill and Smith, but they refused too. Trump is clearly aware of the network's issues, as he mocked the fact that people are dumping the channel.

Former ESPN baseball analyst Curt Schilling was sacked previous year for ridiculing the movement to regulate restrooms and changing rooms on the basis of gender identity, rather than biological sex.

ESPN denied the account to the Post, saying in a statement on Thursday: "We never asked any other anchors to do last night's show".

But the president, through his tweet on Friday, sided with the conservative commentators who say it's really liberal bias that is poisoning ESPN and dragging down the business.

Hill issued her own statement.
