Today prime minister Modi and Shinzo Abe will arrive at Gujrat, Ahmedabad.
After the immensely colourful roadshow that welcomed Abe, he kicked-off his two-day tour with a day-long tour of Ahmedabad.
The famed lattice work of the mosque - the Tree of Life - has come to be the unofficial symbol of the city and has also inspired the logos of the National Institute of Design and the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM). They travelled to Sabarmati Ashram, which is considered a home of Mahatma Gandhi. Though the hotel is famous for offering traditional Gujarati food, the menu for the Japanese premier and his wife was mostly kept under wraps. Massive security arrangements have also been put in place as the two leaders are expected to attend several programmes over the next two days, including the Indo-Japanese annual Summit.
