Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp and player Alex Oxlade Chamberlain during the match between Manchester City and Liverpool
Oxlade-Chamberlain has spoken openly of his desire to carve out a central position at Liverpool and believes he can reach his full potential under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been greeted enthusiastically by Jurgen Klopp on his first day in training with his new club Liverpool.
The former Everton defender said Oxlade-Chamberlain's ability to play in a number of positions could eventually cost him a shot at being a truly exceptional player in one position.
"The team and the feel of the whole football club in general just sat right with me".
According to Ox, he had to leave Arsenal for the sake of his career.
"The main reason I came here was the understanding I'd be playing further up the pitch and in a more attacking role, and more opportunities centrally to express that".
"I know what people think but Phil had the back problem a few weeks ago and couldn't train so that means he missed around about three weeks", Klopp added.

"The manager can take me up to the next level - I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe that".
"The worst moments of my life were under Klopp because, being well, I knew I could play some games, but he was honest with me", he told Marca. "Of course I'm delighted he's signed for Liverpool".
"I'm 24 now and some may say it's still young but in football years, when you've been in a team for six years, it seems like you are quite old".
The German global has chipped in with two goals in his opening four games and has impressed fans with the way he has dominated games.
Whether he features against City remains to be seen, though, with Klopp admitting Liverpool's new No. 21 will need time to "adapt".
'Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to make his Liverpool debut but with England captain Jordan Henderson and Emre Can, who I'm a big fan of, set to play I don't see him getting a game, ' Merson told Sky Sports.
