Tripura BJP core committee reached Delhi to review poll strategy with Shah
Amit Shah began a three-day visit to Odisha from Wednesday as part of his 110-day nationwide tour to strengthen the party in the states.
"The BJP will have no alliance for the assembly elections but come to power in Odisha with two third majority", Shah told reporters here.
When Paul Lyngdoh and MP Conrad Sangma, leaders from Meghalaya, which is one of the four states in the NE to go to elections, raised the question regarding the matter, senior leader and NDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma intervened and said local customs will be respected. "But, only the BJP and Communist parties have internal democracy which is not found anywhere else including the Congress and BJD", Shah said addressing a meeting with intellectuals here. In five of the eight states, we have chief ministers who are members of the NEDA.
He further criticised Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for celebrating his best administrator award given by news magazine.
He accused the Biju Janata Dal government in Odisha of not cooperating and thus grounding several projects even though the Centre had allocated over Rs 4 lakh crore.
Neither Congress, nor BJD have internal democracy, driven by dynasty politics said Amit Shah. "The Modi Government and the BJP have worked upon throwing out killer groups from the North East, while Bangladesh lands boundary agreement has been a success, because after the agreement, the North East has got direction", Shah said.
The BJP blames the Trinamool Congress government, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for this. The BJP is planning to contest on all the assembly seats.
The dip in GDP growth to 5.7 per cent in the first quarter of this financial year is "temporary" and not linked to demonetisation, BJP President Amit Shah said here on Thursday.
