La Liga president challenges UEFA to investigate Man City transfers

Neymar, PSG and Manchester City accused of 'peeing in the swimming pool' by La Liga president Javier Tebas

La Liga president Javier Tebas has challenged UEFA to carry out investigations over PSG and Manchester City's transfer dealings.

The Ligue 1 club, backed by the state of Qatar since Qatar Sports Investments' 2011 takeover, also brokered a loan-to-buy deal with Monaco for the highly-rated teenager Kylian Mbappé, who could join the club permanently for €180m in 2018. "These past few years Manchester City have paid out almost a thousand million on players, PSG £950m".

Tebas also criticised City's relationship with Spanish top-flight side Girona, recently acquired by City Football Group (CFG), for signing and loaning players for next to nothing from City, in so doing allegedly attempting to "cook the books".

"The statements made by Mr. Tebas are completely false and, in part, pure fiction", said the club through an official statement.

Saying he was prepared to give Uefa "six to eight months" to punish both City and PSG before escalating the matter, Tebas added: "If we see that there is no future for that, we will take it to the competition authorities in Brussels and, after that, potentially the courts".

Manchester City say they are taking legal advice over the La Liga president's "ill-informed" criticism of their transfer spending.

Denny Hamlin Wins at Darlington, Martin Truex Jr. Clinches Regular Season Title
Hamlin has had a good year at the tracks he's traditionally done well at this year, so look for that to continue tonight. With his win in the Xfinity Series race Saturday, Hamlin swept both major races at Darlington Raceway this weekend.

But City were left furious over accusations made with regards to Pablo Maffeo, Aleix Garcia, Douglas Luiz, Marlos Moreno and Olarenwaju Kayode.

"Half of the squad left for worldwide duty and they called up reserve players to fill up the group, which is amusing", Bertrand said.

Tebas said La Liga has analysed the accounts of all the top teams in Europe over the last five years and believes PSG, City and even Chelsea have used their owners' wealth to artificially boost revenues in order to meet FFP rules, which say clubs can only spend on players what they generate through broadcast rights, commercial deals and ticket sales.

"These words are not worthy of an institution as respectable and effective as the Spanish league".

"This is when the football clubs have competitive advantage not coming from the club itself. That is impossible. That is financial doping".
