Josh Rosen completes improbable comeback for UCLA vs. Texas A&M: 3 takeaways

Texas A&M's first touch moved 75 yards in 11 snaps, capped by a 5-yard Keith Ford run. The Aggies ran for 286 yards in the first half against the Bruins on Sunday night in the season opener for both teams in the Rose Bowl. Improbable touchdowns were the theme of the night as he narrowly threw over an Aggies defender to find Darren Andrews for a 42-yard touchdown midway through the fourth.

The game was a tale of two halves as the Aggies used a strong running game to run roughshod on the Bruins.

Rosen was getting obliterated in the game. That score one play after Jalen Starks scored the lone UCLA touchdown of the first half on a 2-yard rush, set up by a 57-yard pass from Rosen to Lasley.

For UCLA, it was one of the greatest comebacks in football history, as the Bruins erased a 34-point deficit (they trailed 44-10 with 4:08 left in the third quarter) to win by a point behind a fabulous fourth quarter by quarterback Josh Rosen and their defense.

Euro giants pull plug on Tottenham deadline day deal
Still, unless we hear conflicting reports from some other source, we should maybe consider this transfer on the shelf for now. Maybe the loan terms couldn't be worked out, or maybe there was some sticking point in the deal that couldn't be reconciled.

Josh Rosen was nearly sacked for a significant loss in the red zone with just over three minutes left in the contest.

By the time Rosen started his junior year as UCLA's starter, the luster of his recruiting ranking and that mesmerizing debut had worn off, and another quarterback in Los Angeles, USC's Sam Darnold, had supplanted him on 2018 mock drafts (we have Darnold going No. 1 in our latest) and seized his title as the de facto leader of the Year of The Quarterback crop. Williams broke off a 72-yard run early in the second quarter before he reeled off a 61-yard touchdown run just before halftime. UCLA coach Jim Mora said. Andrews finished with 142 receiving yards and the two scores, while Caleb Wilson led the team with 208 receiving yards.

Mond was 3 of 17 for 27 yards and rushed for 55 yards on 15 carries, and Starkel was 6 of 13 for 62 yards. Anyone who says they saw the comeback coming is lying, but with Rosen at the controls, maybe we shouldn't have written it off completely.

"The idea behind it is to put a defense to sleep", Rosen said.
