Those formalities have been concluded as Chelsea announced on Chelseafc.com a short time ago that Zappacosta has joined the clubs on a four-year contract. The 27-year old was a stalwart in Leicester's midfield over the past two seasons, proving reliable in a title-winning campaign and bringing a sense of calmness during last season's step backwards.

"To get that kind of price for a player who isn't a starter for them is pretty damn good".

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Italian defender Davide Zappacosta from Serie A club Torino on a four-year-deal.
