William, Harry Honor Princess Diana's Charity Work

On the eve of the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Kate Middleton made a poignant visit in the rain to Kensington Palace's White Garden, which has been transformed into a attractive flower memorial for the late princess.

The two royal brothers, along with Kate Middleton, went on a tour of the White Garden (so named because all 1,200 bulbs planted bear white and cream flowers) on Wednesday.

The death of Princess Diana on 31 August 1997, 20 years ago, sent shockwaves throughout Britain.

William and Harry stopped to look at the heartfelt messages, pictures and flowers left in remembrance of Diana, Princess of Wales at the gates of her former home Kensington Palace.

No public events are planned for Thursday.

William, 35, and Harry, 32, stood looking at photos and floral tributes left for their mother at the Golden Gates of the palace.

Britain, the nation of the stiff upper lip, was now wailing and hurling flowers at a hearse. But, apparently, she didn't let that misery stop her from confronting Prince Charles and Camilla about their affair.

Diana lived a life in the public eye, with every move photographed and scrutinized, and was beloved by many.

Hurricane could impact gas prices
Nearly 2 million barrels of refining capacity was taken off line because storm shakes Texas with unprecedented flooding and rain. He suggested retailers could use the wholesale price increase as an excuse to raise prices to boost profit margins.

Kensington Palace was Diana's home from 1981 until her death. "She was always full of compliments on our work, appreciated a lot of the gardens and was very relaxed with us, very relaxed".

The complexity in Diana's character still fascinates. "I remember crying my heart out on my honeymoon", she said, likening herself to a "sacrificial lamb".

She also had a caring nature mixed with a vengeful streak and the air of being an ordinary girl who was actually a blue-blood aristocrat.

William and Harry contributed to some of the documentaries to honour her memory, but are otherwise marking the occasion more discreetly than in previous years.

"When you have something so traumatic as the death of your mother when you're 15, it will either make or break you", William said in the "Diana, 7 Days" BBC documentary.

Above the flowers, a rain-spattered banner shows pictures of Diana with her sons and the words: "Grandma Diana".

"At the time I wanted the Queen back down here with William and Harry, back down in London with the people". "I've always had the feeling that she preferred pastel colors and clear - white, clear pink, clear blue, then I think that what we have achieved here is suitable".
