NEW YORK-Linkin Park frontman ChesterBennington killed himself on the birthday of his late friend Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, highlighting the close friendship between the two troubled singers.
"Blink-182 is wrecked by the loss of our friend and fantastic musician Chester Bennington", the statement read. "It just would not be possible", the band declared in a statement. "Refunds will be available at the place of purchase".
In the wake of the tragedy, Linkin Park has canceled their North American tour and changed the band's logo to represent the void Bennington has left behind.
"I'll cherish every time we hung out or rocked a stage together", Barker tweeted, "Condolences & prayers to all".
In the letter, Bennington said he was "weeping with sadness" following the sudden death of Cornell.
For Chester, that meant his family, including his six children and one note from one of those children just weeks before his death is just enough to agonizingly twist the knife and make his death even more heartbreaking.
After Bennington's death, Jeong paid tribute to him, writing, "I am in shock and heartbroken".
