Am in process of moving to Dallas from Brooklyn, NY (to my huge surprise). Local food is BIG interest/concern of mine. So I was befuddled myself to visit Whole Foods and find few local food stuffs.

I plan to do a LOT of research into the locavore scene when I get back to Dallas in early March. Meanwhile, I'm putting it out there that:

1--I'd love to join a food buying club in North Dallas. And if none exists, let's form one!

2--Looking for a CSA, so if you're a member of one, please let me know.

Finally, was glad to find this site and have joined your fan page. Environmental issues very important to me. Aside from my personal bent, for the last 2 years I've done outreach for A Sea Change a film about the ocean and the wet underbelly of climate change, ocean acidification. What I've learned in the process alternatively has had me despairing, raging, and marching.

Nice to see the valiant effort! My wife and I often get caught in the same traps but to be honest anyone in a city has got it pretty easy. For example, here in seattle we have a different neighborhood market everyday of the week, and usually within an easy bus ride.

It is going to be figuring out how to enable the suburb masses to buy local produce. And I think the answer might be even more time-consuming...community gardens.

We are a seattle-based company hoping to make local buying a business reality.

good stuff though.
