Ticket Giveaway: Mark Bradford at the DMA
Ladies and gents: we’d like to announce our first ticket giveaway. Mark Bradford, whose work is included inPrivate Universes at the DMA (you can read about it here), will be giving an artist talk at the museum this Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m. We have three pairs of tickets to giveaway to the first readers to email editor@renegadebusdallas.com with the subject “Private Universes.”

Mark Bradford, a featured artist in the DMA’s Private Universes exhibit, will be at the Museum on July 23 at 7 p.m. to discuss his fascinating work and intriguing creative process. Bradford’s work uniquely incorporates elements from daily life into his multi-dimensional paintings and sculptures. His recent work, “Mirtha” a 64-foot-long plywood structure he built on Caffin Avenue in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, was one of the many highlights of this years Prospect.1 New Orleans [P.1], the largest biennial of international contemporary art ever organized in the United States. P.1 opened to the public on November 1, 2008 in museums, historic buildings, and found sites throughout New Orleans.

Mark Bradford, a featured artist in the Private Universes exhibition, will discuss his work. Bradford incorporates elements from his daily life into his paintings and sculpture, including scavenged materials such as merchant posters, flyers, and advertisements gathered from the streets of Los Angeles.
