Sad news comes in from one of our readers:

"Apparently this park - Trammell Crow Lake - is exactly one of the public spaces in the Trinity bottomlands that would get paved over by the proposed toll roads.

Overhauled? - http://www.trinityvote.com/blog/comment.asp?bi=370

Isn’t This Park Beautiful? Not After It’s Removed For The Toll Road! - http://www.trinityvote.com/blog/comment.asp?bi=380"

Of course all the alignments for the Trinity are now up in the air, so we'll see where the plans for the road finally come down. My hunch, though, is that it won't change the status outlined in these links since the talk is to move the road further into the flood plain.

@ Carlitos: I was wondering if the park was under water -- thought it might be funny to see the cows' heads peeking out of waves. The toll road certainly came to mind as well, esp. considering it ony took one solid night of rain to flood it as much as it did.

I noticed that Trammell Crow Lake Park seemed to be under water last week during the floodway, um, flooding. I wonder what this says about the Toll Road apparently planned for the same spot?
